Lorne is a specialist in labour and employment law. He has negotiated Collective Agreements, presented arbitration cases, sat on various Boards of Arbitration and acted as counsel in matters before the Ontario Labour Relations Board, Ontario Human Rights Commission, Employment Standards Office and Workplace Safety and Insurance Board.
He has taught extensively in the areas of personnel management and labour relations. He is the author of several papers in these areas. He has acted as a consultant and conducted seminars and conferences for many organizations for a variety of labour related issues.
Lorne has been a partner in Buset & Partners since 1987 and is the Partner in charge of the Labour Department. He graduated from Queen's University with both his Honours Bachelor of Commerce (1966) and Masters of Business Administration (1967). In 1976, Lorne graduated from Queen's University once again, and obtained his Bachelor of Laws Degree.
In 1978, Lorne was admitted to the Ontario Bar and became a Partner at a local law firm in 1983.
During his career, Lorne was an Associate Professor at Lakehead University (1969 - 1973), specializing in personnel management and labour relations.
